Socket Spacer FAQs
What does a socket spacer do?
A socket spacer sits between the back box and the faceplate to adjust depth - either bringing a recessed socket forward or adding wiring space for smart or slimline switches.
When do I need a socket spacer?
Use one if your socket sits too far into the wall, or if a shallow back box leaves too little room for wiring behind a new smart or slimline faceplate.
Which size should I choose?
Measure the gap you need to fill or the extra clearance required for wiring. Spacers are available in 2-20 mm thicknesses.
Are these compatible with UK fittings?
Yes – they fit standard UK single and double-gang sockets and switches. Custom sizes are also available.
Can I paint them to match my wall?
Yes - the plastic can be lightly sanded and painted if desired.
