Why I Moved from Etsy to My Own Website – The Story Behind 2d6.co.uk

Hey there, I'm Luke – the designer, maker, and tea-powered 3D printing enthusiast behind 2d6.co.uk.

Some of you might know me from my Etsy shop (https://2d6designs.etsy.com), where I started selling 3D-printed designs back in early 2025. One of my earliest creations, the Mother and Child Line Art Sculpture (https://2d6.co.uk/products/mother-child-line-art-sculpture), took off in a way I never expected. It connected with people looking for something simple but meaningful – and I was blown away by the kind words, feedback, and support.

That little sculpture opened a big door. As my designs grew more varied – from geeky gaming gifts to minimalist home decor and useful everyday items – I realised I needed a space that could truly grow with me. That’s when I decided to build my own site: https://2d6.co.uk

So why move away from Etsy?

Don't get me wrong – Etsy was a great starting point. It helped me find my first customers and gain valuable experience. But as things grew, I wanted:

• More freedom to showcase my full range of products
• Better control over the look and feel of my shop
• The ability to offer better pricing (fewer fees!)
• And most importantly, a direct connection with the awesome people who support what I do

What you'll find on 2d6.co.uk

At 2d6.co.uk, you can explore all my latest creations, including:

• Thoughtful, modern art pieces like the Mother & Child Sculpture
• Geeky designs inspired by games, TV, and films
• Useful home accessories like light switch spacers and wall signs
• Unique gift ideas for gamers, mums, dads, and anyone who likes something a bit different

I'm also offering custom orders, so if you want something made just for you, I’d love to hear from you.

Is it safe to order from 2d6.co.uk?

Absolutely. My site is powered by Shopify, with secure payments and fast UK delivery. I still sell on Etsy and eBay too, but when you order direct from 2d6.co.uk, you're supporting me more directly – and getting the best prices.

Building something bigger

This move isn’t just about a website – it’s about building a small creative business that can grow over time. I want to keep designing things that make people smile, whether it’s a heartfelt sculpture or a Portal-themed fridge magnet.

Thanks so much for being part of this journey. Whether you found me through Etsy, Instagram, or just stumbled across the site – I’m really glad you’re here.
